Welcome to the Expressive Arts page here you will find lots of ideas and links to getting creative.

Art expands a child’s ability to interact with the world around them, and provides a new set of skills for self-expression and communication. Not only does art help to develop the right side of the brain, it also cultivates important skills that benefit a child’s development.

By engaging in art activities, children practice a variety of skills and progress in all areas of development. Creative art helps children grow in physical, social, cognitive, and emotional development. Children also practice imagination and experimentation as they invent new ways to create art. This could be through techniques including art, drama, movement, music, poetry, puppetry, and sand play.

We know that the Rosary Children are very artistic and we would love to see you spending some of your daily routine including art.

Maybe you can play an instrument?

Maybe you’re a fabulous painter?

Maybe you love to dance or sing or act?

We are all good at something! So maybe you could have a go at a few of the ideas and links below and let us know how you got on?

Back and forth drawing game.

One person starts the drawing with something simple and quick. For example, you might draw circle or a line, a pair of eyes, or the outline of a house.

Then we just take turns adding elements back and forth. Taking one turn each to add something to the drawing. This can be drawing or you may choose to add words or phrases, speech bubbles or sentences.
