Lorikeet’s on the Heath!
On Tuesday 6th July, we went on our class trip to Hampstead Heath to be plant detectives and we had so much fun despite the weather!
We started off by talking about our knowledge of what plants/trees need to grow and then we became detectives to try and match leaves we were given to their actual tree. Next we went through a secret passageway and came out very high on the hill and we played some games exploring what plants/trees need to grow and what happens if we take an element away. We loved running through the long grass and talking about the London skyline behind us because we learnt about London landmarks in Geography earlierĀ this year.
After that, we made some beautiful natural art using leaves and flowers.
By this point, we were starving! We had our picnic, in the rain, sitting under beautiful willow trees for shelter from the rain. Suddenly, the sun came out so we went to the playground and met the Toucans there for a quick play!
Finally, we started the journey back to school and the heavens decided to open and we got absolutely soaking! We came back into class, took our shoes off and relaxed with a film, golden time & a lovely art activity with Miss Stansfield.
Thank you to our parent helpers for joining us, we had the BEST day!
