This week, to support our forces topic in science and our measures topic in maths, we investigated the force of friction.
As scientists: we decided what we would like to find out, designed our own investigation to answer our question, decided how to make it a fair test and wrote a prediction of what we thought would happen.
Then the real fun began, when we were able to carry out our method. See above- us dropping a toy car down different surfaces on a ramp and measuring to see how far the car could travel.
Our results showed us that carpet was the surface that created the most friction- causing the car to travel a shorter distance.
It was really fun being scientists, and we look forward to our next investigation related to magnetism!
