This week the Chicks developed their farm shop to go with our theme ‘The Odd Egg’. It soon became a hive of activity with so much buying and selling of fresh farm goods.
The manager phoned the farmer to order her stock and got her till filled with unifix cubes as cash.Friends had a good look around the stall and decided what they would like to buy. There was a lot of conversation about what is grown on a farm. We discussed who preferred fruit or vegetables and found out all the names for them. Some friends decided to organise the foods into colours and others liked to mix them up and even make patterns with them.It was quite an expensive shopping spree for some, as this young man was charged £5 for a pear…I think it must have been organic! This satsuma was a little bit more reasonable, costing just £2.The children worked together to find the correct number on the till to match the payment needed. Some friends enjoyed exploring the small world farm and all the different animals and textures available.
