In Eagles, we have been learning a lot about our Science topic: SPACE.
After learning identifying all of the planets in our solar system and recognising how day and night works in previous lessons, we moved on to answering a big question: Why does it look like the moon changes shape every night?
We discovered that the moon does not ‘change shape,’ but in fact goes through different phases as it orbits the Earth.
We updated our Science Vocab bank with new key words like: satellite, rotation, waxing, waning, crescent and gibbous.
In order to put our understanding to the test, we recreated the moon’s phases using oreos – this was a very fun (and very tempting) challenge!
