Our topic this half term is ‘Sensational Safari!’ It is a Geography and Science topic. We have been focusing on Geography this week.
Earlier this week we learned about the seven continents and five oceans! Today we recapped on this learning and discussed where Kenya is in the world!
We discussed the fact that Africa is a continent and Kenya is one of the countries in this continent. We worked in small groups with Miss Duncan, using key vocabulary to describe the location of Kenya. We all located Kenya, using geographical terms.
Here are some quotes from some of the Toucans:
· Felix – ‘Kenya is in Africa.’
· Tommaso – ‘Kenya is south of Ethiopia.’
· Bella – ‘Kenya is very hot because it is on the equator.’
· Antabella – ‘Kenya is a country in Africa.’
· Ciara – ‘Kenya is in East Africa!’
We also looked again the location of the continents in the world. We even worked in groups to solve a jigsaw puzzle of the world! We spotted Africa on here, too!
