Year five were treated to a visit from students and teacher from The Hall School to teach us more about life in the classical world.
We began the day greeting each other in Latin, and then looked how life in the Roman period has impacted on our lives today. Ask your children about Roman roads, bridges, numerals, underfloor heating, their armies and much more!
We learned how the Romans wrote and even wrote some messages of our own – can you read any of them?
Before lunch, we looked at the various designs that Romans mosaics; the images they depicted and which sorts of people would have had them in their homes. We had a wonderful time designing and making our own mosaics!
