As part of Black History Month, we celebrated the inspiring legacy of Beryl Gilroy, the first Black head teacher in Camden. Through stories and discussions, we learned about her groundbreaking achievements, her commitment to education, and the challenges she overcame to create a lasting impact on her community. Inspired by her vision and resilience, we explored creative ways to honour her legacy. We worked on designing alternative logos for her school, imagining symbols and motifs that reflect her values of equality, education, and empowerment.
