The Lorikeets had an exciting first day of STEAM filled with creativity and discovery. We began by exploring maps of Belsize Park, identifying local landmarks, and discussing what makes our neighbourhood special. Inspired by our findings, we worked together to create a class archive showcasing the unique features of the area.
Next, we took on the challenge of designing our own town plans, adding parks, homes, and fun structures that reflected our imaginations. Back in the classroom, we explored layouts and elevations, brainstorming ways to make our learning space even better.
To wrap up the day, we visited the playground to observe and sketch different structures, like climbing frames and bridges, learning about their shapes and purposes. It was a fantastic introduction to STEAM, and we can’t wait to continue exploring and creating!
