We had our first school trip of the year this week- to the Florence Nightingale Museum! We took the bus down to Waterloo and were greeted by Florence Nightingale herself (in an amazing costume!) She spoke to us about her life and we were able to share all the facts we’ve learned in class. Some of us were asked to help Florence tell her life story and act as members of her family!
We learned a lot from the museum- there were some nurse uniforms to look at and even a replica of the lamp which she was so famous for! It was really interesting to find out more about Florence’s early life as well as all the changes she made in hospitals.
Before we left some of us were even able to try on some clothing from Florence’s time period! It was such an enjoyable trip, and a massive thank you to the parents who came along to help! We can’t wait to learn even more about Florence Nightingale.
