We are moving on to addition and subtraction, try working through some of these.
You can do as much or as little as you can.
Addition and subtraction
1) 27 + 23 = 5) 53 + 45 = 9) 53 – 11 =
2) 12 + 17 = 6) 36 + 14 = 10) 32 – 11 =
3) 25 + 25 = 7) 27 + 24 = 11) 33 – 16 =
4) 36 + 31 = 8) 36 + 26 = 12) 65 – 13 =
Money
35p + 12p = p 22p + 35p = p 26p + 33p = p
11 p + 12 p = p 10p + 15p = p 16p + 16p = p
Molly has 77p, she loses 13p. How much money does she have left?
Jim has 37p and Rose has 21p. How much do they have altogether?
Jo has 47p. Jill takes 27p. How much does Jo have left?
Adding and subtracting in multiples of 10 and nearly numbers
(9, 11, 19, 21 are ‘nearly numbers’ as they are nearly a multiple of 10, so are easy to add and subtract)
26 + 10 = 38 + 20 = 34 + 30 = 21 + 21 =
38 + 10 = 67 – 20 = 62 – 30 = 37 + 21 =
29 – 10 = 66 – 20 = 28 + 30 = 44 – 21 =
Writing
Try to put some of the words from your spellings in to clear sentences. Make sure they have a capital letter and a full stop.
Remember to include adjectives for description and a conjunction (and, but, so, because) to extend your sentences.
You could even write a story about part of your weekend!
You could write a story about two animals travelling around the world, just like we have planning in our literacy lessons this week.
