Another busy week has flown by for Toucans! Here is a peek into our busy classroom this week!
In Maths we were partitioning and adding two 2-digit numbers. We used apparatus to start with, then we drew it, and finally we did the calculations using numerals only!
Then we worked into our books!
In literacy this week we learnt more about ‘Traction Man’! We sequenced the story, described our own outfit for Traction Man and we designed our very own Villain!
Next week we are going to write our own version of Traction Man, with the villain we designed on Friday!!!!
We completed our first proper scientific experiment this week all about absorbency.
To start with we discussed the properties of materials. Then we learnt about what the word absorbency actually meant.
We came up with a prediction to think about which paper towel would be the most absorbent.
We then made it a fair test by pouring the same amount of liquid on each paper towel!!! We were such enthusiastic scientists!
We found that the kitchen towel was the most absorbent!!!!!!
It was also children in need day! We raised money as a school by dressing up in spotty clothes!
We hope you enjoyed having a peek into our classroom this week!
See you all next week,
From Toucans!
Thank you for posting this, it’s so good to see the kids so engaged and learning many new things!
