As part of our History topic, ‘Invaders and Settlers,’ Kingfishers class have been learning about what life was life for Anglo-Saxons. We explored the kind of geographical locations they settled and how they built their homes and villages. We learnt how they preferred wood house to the stone ones the Romans had built and chose to settle in areas with a vast amount of trees in close proximity. Anglo-Saxons also preferred a quieter life and avoided areas like London, preferring farming land. We discussed what it may have been like to live in a one room wooden home with our whole family.
After our very enthusiastic discussion we had a wonderful task, to create trioramas depicting Anglo-Saxon life. Have a look at some of our fantastic work below.
