Today, we explored what Anglo-Saxon settlements would have been like.
We learnt that they built their villages out of wood and looked to settle on land which had lots of natural resources. They surrounded each village with a high fence to protect their animals and keep out enemies. The houses were dark inside and full of wood smoke. We also learnt that extended families lived together in one house.
We created our own triarama’s of an Anglo-Saxon settlement, using our new knowledge to design these.
