Toucans had lots of fun exploring how to paint using computers!

We each had our own iPad and practised using the ‘Paintz’ website. We discussed and practised:

●        making marks on a screen and explaining which tools we used

●        drawing lines on a screen and explain which tools we used

●       using the paint tools to draw a picture

At first, we looked at the different tools and predicted what their function could be. We looked at the paintbrush, pencil, eraser, fill tool, spray can, and undo tools.

Here are some of our predictions and comments:

“The paintbrush is larger than the pencil”- Rakeeb

“The arrow might mean start a new page”- Daisy

“The paint brush and pencil are different because the brush is more chunky”- Ruby

“The arrow might mean turn to the left”- Lucas

“The arrow might mean you can make circles”- Sanuthi

We then explored and experimented with these tools!

“I’ve drawn a circle by clicking on this tool!”- Saunthi

“I have a yellow background”- Nellie

“I made the number bigger because the rubber was not working well”- Jack

We then discussed the function of each tool. Miss Duncan used Screen Mirroring to model how to create a self-portrait using the tools on the iPad. We then all had a go! Have a look at some of our work below. You can continue experimenting at home on the  paintz.app website!
