Last week, Eagles explored place value of 7 digit whole numbers. We learnt how to round numbers up to the nearest million.
We played a fun rounding game in partners to consolidate our learning.
First, we had to roll the dice to make a number and then we rounded to the nearest ten or thousand.
This was a fun way to learn how to round numbers up or down.
We now know that if the number we are rounding is followed by a 5, 6, 7, 8 or 9, we round up.
If the number we are rounding is followed by 0, 1, 2, 3 or 4, we round down.
