As we come to the end of our topic on Street Detectives we are ending our unit with an art project inspired by the Turner Prize Winner Lubaina Himid.
Lubaina Himid was the first black woman to win the Turner Prize. One of her most recognised pieces is her artwork on human figures representing diverse cultures.
Macaws have been inpsired to create figures of themselves representing their culture or their personality. We started by sketching our outlines then outlining in black marker. When ready, we took great care in painting our clothes which we added finer details with marker.
Wowee Macaws! These are utterly fabulous, I can’t wait to see the finished product! x
