In today’s assembly we gathered together to reflect on a brilliant Autumn Term and say lots of “well dones” and “thank yous”. We began by reflecting on the true meaning of Christmas, by listening to a wonderful retelling of the story of ‘Papa Panov’s Special Day’ and remembering that when we help other people we are doing what Jesus asked us to do when he said “whatever you do to the least of my brothers you do unto me”. We have certainly been helping those less fortunate than ourselves this term and our Mini Vinnies told us all about how much money we have raised for The Common Good and what lovely things we have done to support those in our local community, such as taking hampers to our local hospice.
We were visited by the Police who came to collect the generous donations of gifts we have all collected for The Christmas Tree Project. These gifts will be taken by the policemen to local children’s homes and hospitals so that young people less fortunate than us can experience the magic of receiving a gift at Christmas time. Thank you all for your generous donations and thanks to Ruby’s mum Catherine McGinley for all her hard work with this.
We also said ‘well done’ to those of us who have achieved 100% attendance this term, our super reader Ralph in Macaws, those who have won a gold Mathletics certificate and our times table champions.
Well done for a wonderful Autumn Term everyone! Have a very Merry Christmas!
