We have started our new text: The Lost Happy Endings by Carol Ann Duffy.
So far, we have learnt that the main character is a six fingered girl called Jub. Her job is to release her sack of happy endings for the children’s bed time stories every night.
However, an evil witch has stolen her sack! We wrote diary entries in the role of Jub, describing the awful theft! We discussed lots of vocabulary (borrowing ideas from Carol Ann Duffy, Roald Dahl and Anthony Browne) to help us describe the witch. We focused on using fronted adverbials and figurative language.
We ALL worked so hard.
Some Pelicans have read out their fantastic writing.
