We had a fantastic trip to the British Museum!

We learnt about the Minoans and Mycenaeans and explored the cases to discover how they decorated their pots with animals and made small objects shaped like them. We also found out about how the Greeks set up trading towns in the Archaic Age and swapped ideas about art with the people they met. We even spotted a pot decorated with the story of Theseus and the Minotaur! And we impersonated the three Nereid sculptures on the Nereid Monument.

After lunch, we participated in a workshop all about Ancient Greek democracy. We were lucky enough to handle artefacts to find out more about life in ancient Athens and held our own democratic vote.
