On Wednesday 6th of October, my class and I went to the RAF museum. At nine thirty, we walked across the road to Belsize Park underground station and got off at Colindale.
Once we arrived, we went for our workshop, which was very interesting. We answered questions and we were moved to a WW2 classroom, and acted as if it was the 1940s. Our teacher was very strict and had to write with fountain pens. Since there was too much ink when we wrote, we needed to use blotting paper, which absorbed all the excess ink. After that, we learnt that we needed to carry around IDs so the military could eliminate all spies. Then we were required to fill in a tag, so people knew who we were, and wrote currency in small books since paper was rationed. Suddenly, an alarm went off telling us that there was a bomber approaching. There were usually no bunkers around schools so to keep safe, we crawled under tables.
After the workshop, we had lunch. Once we ate, we went ticking of planes on a sheet made by Mr Keen (thank you). Whoever completed the sheet first received a prize and Miss Long’s group won (congratulations).
After the search, we went to a different room, which had many activities. Finally, we went back to school on the tube. Overall, this was a wonderful trip since it was the first trip we have been on in a few years.
