On Friday the Kingfishers attended a concert at the SouthBank Centre called ‘Harmonise’ which showcased music from many different Refugee cultures to celebrate Refugee Week. The amazing musicians and leaders from Music Action International taught us songs which we could join in with and performed songs they had written with other Primary school children. We also heard traditional songs and music from the cultures of Syria, Ethiopia, Mozambique and the Roma communities.
It was a joyful afternoon and we all did lots of dancing. We were so inspired by their powerful messages and beautiful music.
Some comments from our Kingfishers on the bus home…….
“We were impressed by all the different languages sung by children.”
“We loved hearing a story as part of a song.”
“We loved the children dancing we couldn’t help dancing with them.”
“We could tell the children had really thought about the songs”
“I was inspired by the musicians’ talents”
“Everyone worked together.”
“The girls who sang solo was so brave and so confident.”
THEY NAILED IT! ❤️❤️❤️❤️????????
