We know that poetry is a style of reading and writing and can be written by anybody! It is a way to express thoughts and feelings in a creative way. We also spoke about performing poetry – people may change their tone of voice or how quickly they read certain phrases! We then listened to a poem called ‘Where Teachers Keep Their Pets’ by Paul Cookson. We read it together as a class, highlighting rhyming words and thinking about our rhythm.
After that, we practised lines with our Kagan partners and then performed it as a class! Some of us came up with actions to help us remember the rhythm and words!
