Today we visited St Dominic’s Church! Father Andrew showed us many of the objects that we learnt about during R.E. at school last week. We saw the Lectern, the Tabernacle, the Altar, the organ and we sat in some of the pews.
Father Andrew then showed us the Baptismal font and explained this special Sacrament. We know that water washes away our sins. When we are baptised, we become part of the Christian family and God lives in us. He becomes our father and this is why we say that Lord’s Prayer. Father Andrew also showed us the Oil of Chrism and explained that the white garment represents holiness. Before we left, we visited the Joyful Mysteries altars. We especially loved looking at ‘The Presentation’ as we have learnt about this at school.
