This afternoon we worked practically with coins. We talked about how coins aren’t used that much anymore but how they still have value.
On our tables we sorted the coins by colours and size & we looked at ordering the coins by values.
We talked about some common misconceptions- smaller coins are worth less/bigger coins are worth the most.
We also started to talk about how much each coin is worth- £1 is 100p, £1 is 10x 10p etc.
In this unit we will also be recognising and understanding the value of notes and counting in coins. This is a fun skill to practise at home and at the shops!
