Toucans have had the most fabulous time recently! Last week in our literacy lessons we learnt all about instructions, so we decided we needed to make something first!
We made Iced Mint Tea!!!! We learnt all the steps which were needed in preparation for writing our very own instructions.
We absolutely loved the mint ice tea, it tasted so fresh and was a great treat after lunch time.
Later on in the week we went on our first school trip due to COVID. We went to Hampstead Heath for a plant detective workshop. We had a great time and learnt to much throughout the day. Unfortunately it did rain rather a lot but that didn’t stop us!
We matched leaves we were given to the same plants as our first activity. We got points for finding the match which made it even more fun!!!
After that we played a game were we needed to collect little bits of a paper which were all the things plants need to grow. We needed to collect water, soil, air and sun tabs.
Our last activity was making a plant on a sticky piece of card from all the plants around us.
Later on in the week we had a plant based tea party! Every single food and drink item came from a plant. One of our favourites was sunflower seeds! We thought that might be because of our dedication to growing our own sunflowers over the last few weeks!
Gosh Toucans you have been busy! I’d love a glass of that Iced mint tea in this heat!
Miss Stefanou 🙂
