Online Safety Trip to the Houses of Parliament

To celebrate Safer Internet Day 2026, two of our talented UKS2 competition winners were invited to a prestigious Parliamentary Tea at the House of Commons yesterday.

Our Y6 students, Maks and Jeminipe, took center stage at Westminster, confidently presenting their expert insights and original ideas on online safety and Artificial Intelligence to a distinguished audience of Members of Parliament and senior leaders from Google, YouTube, and Parent Zone, proving that children’s voices are essential in shaping the future of technology. This unique opportunity allowed our pupils to act as "the real experts," bridging the gap between classroom learning and national policy in the heart of London law-making. We are incredibly proud of the articulate and inspiring way they represented young people's voices and our school on such an influential stage. What an amazing thing to be a part of and incredible historic building to see the inside of! The children even got to meet YouTube creator "TomRocksMaths" and Maks asked him a challenging maths problem. Can you try to solve and prove it? Is it Sometimes, Always or Never True that if you multiply four consecutive numbers and add one you always get a square number?
