Pelicans (Y4)
Welcome to the Pelicans' home page!
In Pelican class we are eight and nine years old and enjoy learning in a welcoming and creative environment. We have mutual respect for one and other and enjoy working with different people. We complete cross curricular activities in class and love going on trips to consolidate our learning. Our weekly homework often involves further research into our topic work, encouraging us to take ownership and develop our independence towards our learning. We appreciate each other’s work and enjoy celebrating others’ and our own successes.

Wednesday 24 September 2025 Pelicans Trip to the British Museum As part of our topic on Ancient Greece, we visited the British Museum to explore its incredible collection of Ancient Greek artefacts. We followed a trail that guided us through the galleries, helping us discover treasures from different periods of Greek civilisation, including the Minoans, Mycenaeans, and the world of Alexander the Great. We were prompted to spot precious objects and ancient tools, identify animals and patterns on pottery and copy the poses of statues and friezes. The experience brought Ancient Greece to life and helped deepen our understanding through exploration, observation and storytelling.
