Macaws' Trip to Kenwood House

Our trip to Kenwood House was full of adventure and plenty of hands-on fun! We began by exploring the beautiful grounds, where we were amazed by the bright and colourful rhododendrons blooming around us. We also visited the Dairy and enjoyed sketching the stunning house while eating our lunch under the shade of a tree.

After lunch, we explored the magnificent house itself, including its impressive library, which made us feel as though we had stepped back in time. The highlight of the day was taking part in a workshop in the old kitchen, where we pretended to be servants applying for a job at Kenwood House! We made butter, polished silverware and mixed spices before proudly serving dinner to Lady and Lord Mansfield.

By the end of the day, we had learned so much about life in the past and discovered that polishing silver is much harder work than it looks!
