Year 2 Trip to the British Library
Year 2 had a truly unforgettable trip to the British Library, where they met the inspiring author Abiola Bello and the talented poet Adisa Andwele. Abiola shared her wonderful animal-themed stories and spoke to the children about what inspires her writing. The pupils then became illustrators themselves, creating fantastic elephant drawings inspired by her books! During the visit, the children also explored the library and were amazed by the magnificent King’s Library towering above them. Later, they met Adisa, who was very impressed by our school as the children asked thoughtful and imaginative questions about the meaning behind his poetry. The session ended with everyone joining in some exciting spoken word poetry together. By the end of the day, Year 2 left full of creativity, curiosity… and perhaps a few future authors and poets in disguise!
